RAG works with a team of vetted security system specialists that install, repair and maintain home and business security systems. These products and services include electric fencing, CCTV camera networks, intercoms, gates and gate motors, panic buttons and access control systems.

Alarm Monitoring and Armed Response

RAG responds to incidents quickly and our response times are among the best in the country. Our reaction vehicles are always in the area, patrolling 24/7, so we get to incidents quickly. RAG is the only security solution fully dedicated to residents and businesses in Bedfordview Sectors 1 and 2. The RAG control centre is located in Bedfordview. RAG automatically dispatches our armed response vehicles every time a panic, or alarm is triggered.

RAG Security App

RAG has a Security App which notifies residents every time the alarm on their property is triggered. It allows residents to press a panic/ SOS call request straight from their cellphone and track alarm activations and deactivations.

Gate Monitoring

Gate forced entry is a common problem and property owners should secure their gates as thoroughly as possible, as this is often the primary entry point. Gate monitoring systems work with built-in tamper sensors which automatically send a signal to RAG if your gate is being tampered with. The unit or system has built-in sensors and is connected to the software on your smartphone, smartwatch, or computer. So, all the activities which happen on the gate can be monitored and controlled remotely through these smart devices.

Intelligent Offsite Guarding

Intelligent 24/7 offsite guarding uses camera technology, artificial intelligence and machine learning to monitor properties and ensure that potential threats are identified. This technology removes the human element from the situation, as all monitoring and guarding is done remotely, to ensure protection at all times. If a threat is identified, RAG immediately gets notified and dispatches an armed response to investigate.

This service has a number of benefits:

Guards have ‘human’ vulnerabilities. They fall asleep, and are soft targets for criminals. Cameras are immune to these risks.
A smart solution to replace or augment onsite guarding, update systems and better secure your homes and businesses, particularly after hours.
The existing camera network can be used for the intelligent offsite monitoring service, reducing the upfront investment requirements.
The CCTV footage captured by the intelligent offsite monitoring systems can serve as valuable evidence in case of any legal disputes or insurance claims. This footage also helps RAG with investigations.

Two-way communication can be set-up

Cameras with speakers can be set up to allow for two-way communication between the control centre operators and people wanting to enter or leave the premises. The same rules that are set-up with your physical guarding can be set for remote guarding.
Gates are only opened for white-listed number plates belonging to the property owners.
Vehicles that are not on the white-list will be verified with the property owners before allowing entry.
Tail-gating is monitored on camera, and vehicles will be denied entry if they are being followed. Armed response is immediately dispatched if a threat is identified.
Additional threats, for example loitering, identified based on pre-defined rules, will also result in triggers for an armed response from RAG.

Onsite Guarding

On-site guarding is a critical element when it comes to the security of homes, businesses, and enclosures. It is imperative that clients are extra careful when employing a guarding service and do extensive research to determine that the guards employed are legal South African citizens, registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA), have no prior criminal record and are paid according to the PSIRA standards. Double check that all the guards assigned to your property meet these criteria.

Thorough pre-employment screening is done by RAG and our guarding provider to verify that our guards meet the requirements of trustworthiness, honesty and integrity. It is a RAG requirement that our reaction officers are paid at a rate higher than the legislated PSIRA Grade A rate. This ensures that we attract and retain a higher calibre officer.

VIP Home Tuck-in Service

If you are feeling vulnerable, driving home late at night or driving from a sensitive hotspot, like a bank or airport RAG provides its members with a VIP Home Tuck-in Service. Short-term Alarm Rental Solutions

If you don’t have an alarm system and would like to rent one on occasion or bolster your current alarm capabilities, whilst on holiday for example, RAG offers a short-term alarm rental solution.
